What can you do with the integration between WhatsApp Cloud API and Zapier available on WOZTELL?
- Trigger:
- Receive WhastApp messages on Zapier
- Actions:
- Send session messages from Zapier
- Send template messages from Zapier
Trigger – Receive WhatsApp messages on Zapier
- The date and time when the message was received
- The message ID
- The number from which the message was received
- The content of the message
- The data of the WOZTELL user and the channel that received the message.
You can capture this information and use it for different types of actions. The most common are database writing and CRM, and the automatic response actions (or a combination of both).
You can even combine this data gathering with the automation of the conversation using a chatbot on WOZTELL.
Action – Send a session message from Zapier
A session message is the one you send during an active conversation on WhatsApp Cloud API. If you don’t know what an active conversation is, you can learn it in this video.
In the action, you will be able to configure, using the variables provided by the chosen trigger, the following elements:
- Sending channel (WhatsApp number from which to send the message)
- Telephone number of the customer to send the message to
- Allowing to send messages to the customer
- Or allowing to send messages to your team when the trigger triggers
Remember that following the WhatsApp Cloud API terms and conditions, you will only be able to send a session message when the WhatsApp conversation window is open.
Action – Send template messages from Zapier
A template message is a pre-designed and pre-approved message by WhatsApp that allows you to start a conversation in WhatsApp Cloud API with a client. If you don’t know what an active conversation is, you can see it in this video.
In the action, you will be able to configure, using the variables provided by the chosen trigger, the following elements:
- Sending channel (WhatsApp number from which to send the message)
- Telephone number of the customer to send the message to
- Allowing to send messages to the customer
- Or allowing to send messages to your team when the trigger triggers
- Message to be sent, using a template with languages / variables.
- Language of the selected template.
- In case the template has variables, you can fill in these variables using static or dynamic information by inheriting fields collected from the trigger.
You can use these messages to start a conversation with your customers when one of the triggers you have set up in Zapier is triggered. For example when a customer abandons a cart in your e-commerce or when a record is updated in your CRM.
How to use the integration between WhatsApp Cloud API and Zapier via WOZTELL?
On the first place, you need a WOZTELL and a Zapier account. In both cases you can start with a free account.

Once both accounts are created, you are ready to start connecting WOZTELL with Zapier and create your first Zaps. We show you how step by step.
Create your connection with WOZTELL on Zapier
The first thing you need to do is to connect your WOZTELL account with your Zapier account. Please follow the steps below to do so:
1.- Log in to your Zapier account.
2.- Navigate to the “My Apps” option in the left menu.




Now you have the WOZTELL and Zapier connection ready and you can start using WOZTELL actions and triggers to connect Zapier and WhatsApp Cloud API.
